 I am not familiar with PK-96 or KA-NET-ROM.
Yes, you can use both ports of the KAM (& KPC-4, & 3 ports of the 
KPC-9612##) with G8BPQ node code.  AFAIK, the PK-* do not use both
ports simultaneously.  I am sure you will find the answer soon, here,
on this list. ;-)

 I am familiar with BPQ & KPC-4.  Yes, you can use both ports
of the KAM.  I have used KPC-4, DRSI-2, & MFJ-1270B for 5 radio
ports with BPQ.  The KPC-4 and KAM are configured the same in
BPQCFG.TXT.  Not a problem.  Piece of cake. :-)
