to the question about the "Carbon 4" and "MULTI" servers not  sending the 
notifications
acknowledgements to the Sysop:  MULTI apparently doesn't have a  special 
coding to 
set up for the Sysop notifications.  In the Carbon 4 *.dis files we  have 
them set up
as follows:
LIST
RLINES
ACKON
SYSNOTIF  (manual says this for notification)
SYSACK    (manual says this for notification)
CALLSUPER
 
any further thoughts from anyone
